Restaurants can be expensive. Try to cook your meals at home and plan ahead, that way you will only buy what you need for the week. You will not only save money but will eat healthier.
- Go generic
The quality is the same and you will be buying less expensive products.
- Bottle your own water
Take a bottle of water from your house in the morning and refill it throughout the day from public water fountains.
- Carpool

- Fun at home
Organizing a game night with your friends, renting a movie and hosting a potluck to have fun without going out.
- Clip coupons
Check out your local newspaper on Sundays for coupons and special offers. Also. join your supermarket’s mailing list and sign up for a rewards card.
- Avoid credit cards
Plastic money is not free cash. Credit Cards usually come with interest fees that can sometimes translate into paying double the amount that the items cost when you bought them.
- Watch out for garage sales
Pay close attention to garage sales in your neighborhood. A lot of what you can buy at a garage sale are items that are in good condition at a very reasonable price.
- Check out the local art scene
Art galleries, theatres and bar with live band entertainment are an inexpensive way to have fun outside. Plus, they are always stock-piled with free food like cheese platters.
- Do it yourself
Wash your car at home, learn basic mechanic skills, paint the walls of your house. Try to keep professional services at a minimum.
